There is one quote that is repeated in the Bible enough times to cover once per day throughout a year. That is, “Do not fear”.
The War on Terror is escalating. Yesterday in Westminster another tragedy might have happened if it weren’t for the excellent screening and security system in place. The soldiers of terror want to destroy democracy, freedom of religion, freedom in general. But we must stand firm and not let our way of life, as decadent as it has become, to bow the knee to Islamic Terrorism. And we must not fear.
We who know the LORD JESUS can live knowing that when physical death comes it will be in the perfect timing of God. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10). As we rest in Him and acknowledge His strength and power all other fears wash away.
And as we stand on this truth, others will see and will be impacted. Fearlessness can be as contagious as fearfulness. People are like sheep and will follow the shepherd that is nearest and strongest.
Let us be shepherds for the sheep in our society, and lead them to green pastures of peace, forgiveness, security and hope. As we do not fear, so will others see our strength, and find strength too.
Always be ready to give an account.
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” (1Peter 3:15)
When we stand firm there is no limit to the positive effect it can — and will — have on others.
