David Aldous
The Lord will reign for ever
March 08th 2012 » Comments » David Aldous

Father, thank You for how You have taught us over this past 3 months.  I pray You continue into the next volume Lord and beyond.  Thank You for opening Your scripture, Your word to us to arm us in the battles ahead.  Lord Your word is our shield of Faith and we thank You that we are learning all the time to be able to extinquish the arrows of the evil one. In Jesus’ name Amen.

We come now to the final verse in Psalm 146, and to the final day in this volume.  This particular Psalm is known as the Hallelujah Psalm because in most versions it starts and finishes with that word.  However in my version, the translation I love and adore the ‘New Living Translation,’ it says the words ‘Praise the Lord.’  I love that so much beloved, I really do. ‘The Lord will reign for ever.’  He will, that I know.  Look at the words for ever.  What does that mean?  It means simply that.  For ever and ever and ever and ever etc.  He will reign all that time beloved.  Do you know what?  If you have committed your heart to Him, then you and I will reign with Him.  You and I are His adopted children.  Just think about this today beloved.  You are His adopted child.  The Bible says in Ephesians Chapter 1 and verse 5, ‘God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.’  This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.’

This is great beloved.  The second part of the verse says, ‘Oh Jerusalem Your God is King in every generation.’  Look at that word ‘King’.  If your heavenly Father is Your King then beloved, you are a prince, or a princess, in the Royal court.  Oh boy I love this.  Look at verse 4 of Isaiah 43.  It says, ‘You are precious, you are honoured, and I love you.’  Look there at the word honoured.  Kings and princes and princesses are honoured the world over.  Look at our own royal family and how they are respected and honoured and loved the world over.  That is you beloved.  Today you are a Royal prince or princess. Why?  Because the Lord loves you so much He decreed it.  Give Him that worship right now that He so richly deserves.  Give Him the praise and the glory that He demands.

The final words of this Psalm say Praise the Lord.  That is what I want us to do right now, as we close.  Let us adore the KIng of Kings, Lord of Lords.  Bring all you are to Him right now.  Tell Him how much you love and adore Him.  Spend this time right now before Him.  I can tell you this, if you do your day will be a wonderful testimony to others you come in contact with, for peace will fill your heart.

Praie the Lord.

A prayer:  Lord God of Israel, I praise and magnify Your Holy name.  Amen.
