Give thanks in all things

I can say one thing with complete certainty, there is no-one in the body of Christ who is without use to the kingdom and the work that God is doing. Even though you may not yet know your particular ministry or job or who you will marry, or where you will live that doesn’t mean we should be waiting for when we do. Start right now, stop focusing completely on the future and live in the present, it is good to have goals, to have vision but not at the expense of what God is doing in your life right now. Are you making the most of what God has put in your hands now and allowing God to entrust you with more, as the bible says in Luke 16:10"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much”.

Working in the Revelation TV office I get to talk to some really wonderful and interesting people. One lady who really stuck in my mind called the office just to order a DVD but ended up sharing her life story with me. Listening to her testimony I found myself amazed at her attitude, she has been confined to her bed for over thirty years since she was in her early thirties, she had never married and most of the people in her life had moved away from the area, she has no family and aside from her carer barely saw a soul from day to day. However what amazed me was how beautifully positive she was about her life and about what God was doing in her life. She was full of hope, full of joy and for me embodied the words of 1 Thessalonians  5:18 ‘giving thanks in everything.’

To the world it may seem that her life is pointless, that she cannot do anything but from her bed but she moves heaven, she prays and intercedes, she worships God and praises Him and her very life is an encouragement to everyone she speaks to because of the abundant joy she has in the face of severe adversity.

This lady has the mind of Christ. Although she is stuck in bed and unable to do even the basic things that we may take for granted she doesn’t see that, she just sees what is in her hand and what she can do with what she does have. She is using what she has right now, not saying that when she is healed her ministry will start, she has started it in the midst of her suffering.

I know a lot of you are searching for the will of God in your lives but the bible is already clear, below are some scriptures for you to start with: Eph 1: 5-12, Eph 5: 1-20, Eph 6:5-8, 2 Cor 8:1-7, 1 Thess 5:11-18, 1 Peter 2:15, 1 Peter 4:1-7, Col 1: 9-12, Rom 8: 27-31, Rom 12: 1-21
